Top Questions

Do you help treat terminal or chronic illness?

Yes, therapeutic massage can help reduce certain symptoms for some illnesses like fibromyalgia, arthritis and cancer.

How should I prepare for my first treatment?

You should bring with you your insurance if you do have one and medical history or any other documents which might have relevant information for the therapist. It is a good idea to use the bathroom before your appointment to avoid having to exit the state of relaxation during treatment. It is also recommended that you drink water before your appointment and avoid overeating as the pressure from massage might make it uncomfortable.

What should I expect from my first session?

When you walk in we will greet you and walk you to the massage room, where you will have to fill up some forms which should take about 5 minutes. We will also try to get to know you better to make the massage as enjoyable as possible. Please do not hesitate to communicate to your therapist if anything bothers you or if you have any questions. Also please let them know about any health related information that might be relevant for the massage. We will try to clarify any doubts or questions that you might have. Before your massage you will be asked if you would like to use the washroom and if you would like some water. Your therapist will also explain to you the treatment procedure and what you can expect. After this, your massage therapist will leave the room and you will be asked to undress and lie down on the massage bed and cover yourself with the bed sheets. Once you are ready you will signal the therapist that they can come back in and the treatment will start. During the massage, the therapist will ask you if you are feeling comfortable, if anything is hurting and if the pressure they are using is fine. Please do not hesitate to communicate to your therapist if you are feeling uncomfortable, if something bothers you, or if you would like them to change the pressure, they will be happy to do so. Once the massage is done, the therapist will exit the room so that you can get dressed and they will meet you outside of the room. Your therapist will ask you about your experience with us. They will answer any questions that you might have, and then you will proceed to pay if a payment is due. You may also schedule your next appointment before leaving if you desire.

What if I have allergies?

That is not an issue at all. When you go to make an appointment make sure you list your allergies, we will make all the necessary arrangements to make you feel safe and comfortable.

Can I shower after a massage?

Yes you can, but if you do, it is recommended that you shower with warm water, not too hot and not too cold since this could lead to feeling dizzy or nauseous, nothing too serious. If you receive a deep tissue massage it is recommended that you wait an hour before you shower since the quick change in temperature could lead to cramps. Another option is to shower right before the treatment to start entering a zone of relaxation before even starting the massage.
